Hampton University School of Science Pre-Med Conference
The Hampton University School of Science is hosting a free one-day Pre-Med Conference on Friday, September 20, starting at 9:00 a.m, and ending at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held on Hampton University’s campus, located at 200 William R. Harvey Way, Hampton, in the Student Center.
During the Conference, attendees will hear about the life and times of a medical school student, what is happening with bio-medical research, alternative occupations for physicians and much more.
Dr. Cedric Bright, 2011-2012 National Medical Association President, and current Associate Dean for Admissions for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, will serve as the Keynote Speaker for the Conference. Dr. Bright is a physician and patient advocate. He has spoken about health disparities before the Congressional Black Caucus; was a medical ambassador to Ghana; and has served as a mentor for the Student National Medical Association.
This is a free event and no registration is required. Workshops are held from 9:00 a.m., and after the closing session at 4:00 p.m., there will be a mixer/social until 6:00 p.m.
