Halloween Night at the Heads
Halloween is the perfect night to experience the eerieness of the nighttime environment surrounding the now iconic Presidents Heads. These creepy-cool decaying artifacts assume an entirely different vibe in the dark than they do during the day - one that has the potential to send a shiver down your spine. Come explore the grounds where these Heads reside as the sun disappears and the Halloween evening darkness sets in. This nighttime explore and accompanying flashlight tour delivered by John Plashal is a rare opportunity to experience this place under the stars and in the absence of an organized professional photo shoot. Bring your best history knowledge because, in addition to the tour, there will be Presidential trivia games played around the fire pit. Select VIP tickets will be available for sale that include Plashal's popular coffee table book, "A Beautifully Broken Virginia", which he will have with him and personally inscribe during a "Meet the Author" session prior to the tours. FAQ Is this a guided tour? General Admission tickets allow you the opportunity to roam the grounds of the Heads between the hours of 6:00 and 9:30PM. There will be periodic flashlight tours conducted throughout the night that offer a history on the Heads and some interesting and often unknown facts about many of the Presidents. There will also be a fire pit and some Presidential trivia games played throughout the evening ( with prizes included ). What is the VIP ticket? This ticket entitles you to the standard evening activities, plus a personally inscribed copy of Plashal's popular coffee table book, "A Beautifully Broken Virginia" which will be delivered to you on the spot during a 45 minute Meet the Author session beginning at 6PM. If you want to purchase more than one book during the evening, they will be available for sale until inventory runs out. How do I get there? The Presidents Heads sit on private property at 8212 Croaker Rd., immediately off the Croaker exit on I-64 near Williamsburg. The name of the business is Hampton Roads Materials. Please park near the trailer as you approach the house on the property. Do not park in front of the house. Weekend traffic on I-64 can be congested. Plan accordingly. Checking Waze or Google Maps before you come might be a good idea. What can I bring into the event? PROPER FOOTWEAR IS CRITICAL. While it will be impossible to exactly predict the amount of mud and puddles in the area during the tour, it is safe to prepare for your shoes to get wet and muddy, especially around the area of the clustered 39 Presidents. Cameras are permitted but tripods are not. No long exposure photography is permitted during the evening. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please contact John Plashal @ "firstname.lastname@example.org" with questions. Do not attempt to contact the landowner. What's the refund policy? Tickets are only refundable if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather. Is the area handicapped friendly? Unfortunately not.
