A History of Norfolk Tour of Cedar Grove Cemetery
Tour Description: Cemeteries are a time capsule of history. Learn about key events of Norfolk’s history as you explore Cedar Grove Cemetery, the city’s oldest municipal cemetery. Learn why the cemetery was established and why it is located where it is.
Special instructions: The tour is limited to 25 participants and advanced sign-up is required. Reserve your space by making a $5 donation to the Norfolk Society for Cemetery Conservation using Paypal. A link will be available from July 4 through 10 at the organization’s website at www.nsccva.org. Donations are non-refundable and will be used to help preserve the city’s historic municipal cemeteries. Note that in accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines, participants are encouraged to practice social distancing and to wear a mask. Note also that the bathrooms will not be open for this event. Please check the organization website on the day of the event in the case of cancelation because of inclement weather.
